{"id":2369,"date":"2012-04-20T12:28:53","date_gmt":"2012-04-20T16:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/youdidntask.org\/blog\/?p=2369"},"modified":"2012-04-20T12:28:53","modified_gmt":"2012-04-20T16:28:53","slug":"yo-decido-claro-i-decide-indeed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/youdidntask.org\/blog\/2012\/04\/20\/yo-decido-claro-i-decide-indeed\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a1Yo Decido, Claro!\u00a0\u00a0  \u00a0I Decide, Indeed!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/youdidntask.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/TimeYoDecido-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"TimeYoDecido\" src=\"https:\/\/youdidntask.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/TimeYoDecido-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"127\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a>Polls are as fickle as the electorate, but an interesting trend among voters is developing.<\/p>\n<p>The recent NBC\/Wall Street Journal numbers are an obvious reflection on former governor Romney&#8217;s Republican primary\u00a0 campaign.\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"nbc-ws\" src=\"https:\/\/youdidntask.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/nbc-ws-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"280\" height=\"203\" \/>In addition to the trend away from Romney by women voters, it is clear that his campaign is is trouble with the Latino voters.\u00a0 Clearly there is a reason why <a href=\"http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/magazine\/article\/0,9171,2107497,00.html\">Time Magazine<\/a> (March 5, 2012) devoted a cover article to the growing power of the Hispanic electorate.<\/p>\n<p>The hardline &#8220;anti-amnesty-immigration&#8221; political action commitee <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alipac.us\/content\/romney-camp-signals-shift-illegal-immigration-388\/\">ALIPAC<\/a> is quite concerned about Romney, despite his primary campaign rhethoric against the DREAM Act and advocation of a system of &#8220;self-deportation.&#8221; (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.alipac.us\/content\/romney-camp-signals-shift-illegal-immigration-388\/\">Emphasized words lifted with quote<\/a>)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The former Massachusetts governor warned during a private fundraiser this past weekend that <strong>his standing in polls with Hispanics \u201c<em>spells doom for us<\/em><\/strong>,\u201d and that to alleviate the problem <strong>the GOP needed to offer its own policies to woo Hispanics<\/strong>. His suggestions included a \u201c<em><strong>Republican DREAM Act<\/strong><\/em>,\u201d referring to <strong>a GOP version of the Democratic plan<\/strong> that would give some illegal immigrants who came here as children a path to citizenship.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So suddenly Mr. Romney has discovered the voting power of a community that he has been dismissing for months.\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Polls are as fickle as the electorate, but an interesting trend among voters is developing.
